I love analyzing this series with people! I’ve really delved into it with a couple of my mutuals, but I’m not going to waste time discussing it with someone who hasn’t read it.Īgain it’s my personal blog where I post about my own interests. I obviously don’t expect people who have an issue with it to read it if they find it triggering because this series is definitely not for anyone, but there are a lot of long criticisms I’ve seen of this series that are either blatantly untrue or have giant holes in it, because they’re written by people who have never actually read the series. While I acknowledge that this series has extremely controversial subject matter there’s also a lot of discourse about it that is just completely untrue by people who have obviously never read past the first book (or read it at all). You never know the personal reasons as to why someone might enjoy something or be attached to something, so judging someone online based on a book series is ridiculous and way too much of that write and grey thinking happens on this websiteģ. I am capable of critical thinking and being aware of the problematic aspects in the media I take in. I don’t feel comfortable with people judging me as a person based on the books I read or movies I watch. If you like other content on my blog and just have an issue with this you can blacklist captive prince, I tag all of my posts.Ģ. If you’re at all bothered by any content on my blog you’re free to unfollow! Being online should be fun for you. If you’re personally triggered or bothered by it that is completely ok.

I know how triggering this series is and the problematic aspects of it. But just going to put together three little points:ġ. This is such a controversial book series and I can actually hear the judgement in this ask so I’m just going to say yes I do, I read it years ago and I reread it this year and I’m hyperfixating on it again.
